Unicorns

Ok last post for the day...maybe. We're reading a Magic School bus about Volcanoes that I'm enjoying a lot more than my 14 month old but I'll talk about that later.

The Dragon and the Unicorn by Lynne Cherry
This book was plain boring and we had to put it down after a few pages. The text on each page is very long. While the pictures are beautiful we just couldn't get through it. I think it might keep the attention of a child that is 10 or older.

I Wished for a Unicorn by Robert Heidbreder
This book is about a girl who wishes for a unicorn and finds one in her dog. It was a fun book but I thought the illustrations were boring. I probably wouldn't buy it but we liked reading it.

Nobody Rides the Unicorn by Adrian Mitchell
The illustrations in this book were very beautiful. It's about a king and doctor that trick a young woman in to getting close to a unicorn so they can kill it to make a goblet and silverware for the king because he's paranoid. She sets the unicorn free and goes to find him and finds out that Nobody rides the unicorn (you'll have to read the book to find out what I mean!). My son enjoyed it because it flows well.

  2. Yeah as in her dog was the unicorn! She just knew it was a unicorn even though it was missing its horn, etc. Kinda funny!
